Philodendron plowmanii, named in honor of the late botanist Timothy Charles Plowman, is a terrestrial philodendron with a repent stem, meaning it creeps along the ground. The deeply quilted leaves are semi glossy, medium green variegated with yellow green and gray green on the underside, each leaf matures to an average of 12" long. The petioles have a ruffled edge and are often tinged with a reddish purple.
Note to customer: Do not repot right away. Provide sufficient light and warmth, and wait until spring to repot, or at the very least allow a few weeks to get acclimated to its new environment before disturbing the roots.
~Do Not place in full sun. Though many Philodendron can be acclimated to full sun, our Philodendron have been grown under shaded, greenhouse conditions.
~Philodendron are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~If trying to get Philodendron to mature, give them a moss pole or wood board to climb! Make sure to keep the pole or board saturated though so aerial roots can attach & actually climb!
