We're known for our reliable shipping & incredible customer service. However, despite this being a question we hadn't thought of until a year ago when we began shipping plants online, we regularly ship thousands of plants a month and have issues with less than 1% of those orders. So yes, shipping plants is safe AND legal as we do have all the required inspections & stamps for states that require particular annual inspections. This allows us to reliably ship to all 50 states—including California.
Both our greenhouses & shipping facility are located in Oviedo, FL... in fact they are just 2 miles away from each other! For perspective, Oviedo is on the East side of Orlando, about a 20-minute drive from Downtown Orlando and 45 minutes away from Disney World and the other legendary theme parks.
If you plan to visit the area, we have a retail store, Gabriella Plants Shop and if you are interested in touring our growing facility, we do offer Greenhouse Tour events monthly.
If you find yourself wishing you had added another plant, you can do so by completing a second order and requesting via email that we combine them. We'll combine those for you and once your order ships together, we'll refund the actual difference in the postage costs vs. the combination of multiple shipping fees. Depending on the number of plants, their weights, and sizes, it can be just as expensive to ship them together as separate, but we do our best to save money, and when we do ... we refund it back to you within 2-3 days generally.
We recommend customers create an account with the same email used to place the order to be able to see the status of an order. But, don't worry, we'll keep you updated via email, too!
Once your order ships, you'll receive an email notification that contains a tracking number. You can track your order by looking up the tracking number on the delivery company's website.
We do our best to ship orders within 7 days of purchase, however, our timelines on shipping do fluctuate throughout the seasons. We always provide an accurate and updated timeline via email in your order confirmation. This gives our team plenty of time to be sure we've picked out the best plants in our greenhouse, that they're inspected and treated to prevent bugs or disease, and are packaged safely for their trip to your home.
We also do our best to send out updates on orders that begin to exceed what we communicated to you and we appreciate your patience.
If you have a specific timing request, simply reply via email to your order confirmation and we'll do the best we can to help.
We recommend you purchaseWinter Protection Insuranceif your area is experiencing daytime highs below 45 degrees in the next week OR if you selected UPS Ground shipping.
Purchasing our Winter Protection Insurance is recommended to ensure that our team has the resources to perform individual weather checks on your orders, including heat packs if necessary, and so that we can stand ready to rectify any issues if your plant is damaged by weather upon arrival.
If you did not already purchase Winter Protection Insurance, you can purchase it on its own on the website and then reply to this email letting us know the Order # of your Winter Protection Insurance order so that we can properly attach it to this order. This is the best way to ensure your existing order ships with Winter Protection Insurance if it does not already have it.
Additionally, if you would like your order held to ship at a later date, simply reply to this order confirmation email and let us know what date you would like your order held. We do our best to honor every hold request that's made before your plant has already shipped!
In the winter, we recommend purchasing our Winter Insurance if your daytime highs are consistently below 45 degrees. You can purchase this as an item along with your order or you can do so after you've already placed an order, just shoot us a message so we can be sure that it's applied to your pending order properly.
Orders that purchase our Winter Insurance will have our staff manually checking the destination of each Winter Insurance order and ensuring that the proper heat packs, additional packing methods or other precautions are taken to ensure your plant arrives safely despite cold. If Winter Insurance is purchased, plants that sustain damage from shipping INCLUDING from cold/heat related damage, will be refunded or replaced free of charge.
Special Note: If your daytime highs are below 15-20 degrees, we may hold your order until a more favorable break in weather.
