The Philodendron 'Caramel Marble' Pink Variegated often referred to in collector circles as the 'Strawberry Caramel Marble' is a premium mutation of the standard 'Caramel Marble'. New leaves often emerge in a fiery explosion of neon pink, sunset orange, or intense copper red. As the leaf hardens off over several weeks, the neon tones settle into a marbled patchwork of cream, soft pink, olive green, and dark forest green. Like most highly variegated plants, it is a relatively slow grower. The variegation is sectoral and marbled, meaning every single leaf emerges as a completely unique piece of living art. Because it relies on a delicate genetic mix (chimera), maintaining high quality lighting is crucial to keep the plant from producing solid green or completely pink leaves. Strong, consistent bright indirect light is mandatory when growing indoors. LED grow lights help maximize the pink expression. Direct, harsh afternoon sunlight will instantly bleach and burn the pink and cream sections.
~Do Not place in full sun. Though many Philodendron can be acclimated to full sun, our Philodendron have been grown under shaded, greenhouse conditions.
~Philodendron are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~If trying to get Philodendron to mature, give them a moss pole or wood board to climb! Make sure to keep the pole or board saturated though so aerial roots can attach & actually climb!
