Hoya villosa develops large, glossy leaves with rippled/highly pronounced veins as foliage matures and a soft, fuzzy underside. Its star-shaped blooms are known for their pleasant fragrance. The starter plants currently available in 4" pots were sourced from a local vendor under the name Hoya villosa.
We’re aware of the ongoing confusion between Hoya villosa and Hoya globulosa. While we believe this identification is accurate, we know villosa is now synonymous with globulosa yet there are several different forms - but we have not grown these plants to maturity ourselves to confidently say which exact form this is. Compared to our other listing labeled Hoya globulosa/villosa, this form has different foliage - glossy leaf surface, and shorter and wider blades.
~Do Not let Hoya sit in excess water. As epiphytes, in the wild they would be growing on tree trunks or branches in the forest understory where they would get most of their water just from dew or moisture in the air.
~Hoya are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~Do Not remove the peduncles [flower stalks] after your Hoya has finished flowering. Hoya are able to rebloom again & again from the same peduncle!
~Feed regularly during the growing season with a low nitrogen fertilizer containing sufficient amounts of phosphorous and potassium.
