We are excited to offer you these gorgeous Hoya endauensis! Light to olive green leaves are obovate with undulate margins. Small fuzzy flowers consist of bright orange corolla lobes, a red corona that is yellow towards the center with a sweet fragrance. Named after the Ulu Endau River in Johor Malaysia river bank where the species was originally collected from in 1985.
*Note to customers: We previously had sold these plants as Hoya kanyakumariana but have now learned they are in fact Hoya endauensis.
Hoyas are mostly epiphytic creeping, twining or vining plants that have a vast array of different leaf shapes, sizes, textures & colors! If provided with the desired conditions Hoyas can bloom, their flowers varying widely species-to-species with many different colors, sizes & even scents! Many Hoya develop purple spots, streaks or patches on the leaves as a response to light exposure. This is commonly referred to as sun stress, is completely natural and normal - sometimes the entire leaf can turn various shades of purple/red. This is not disease and is actually a sign that the plant is healthy.
~Do Not let Hoya sit in excess water. As epiphytes, in the wild they would be growing on tree trunks or branches in the forest understory where they would get most of their water just from dew or moisture in the air.
~Hoya are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~Do Not remove the peduncles [flower stalks] after your Hoya has finished flowering. Hoya are able to rebloom again & again from the same peduncle!
~Feedregularly duringthe growing season with a low nitrogen fertilizercontaining sufficient amounts of phosphorous and potassium.
Plant is ok. I know its only a 3” plant but could have been better…fuller..but my main gripe is the awful packaging!! Who in their right mind thinks cotton & rubber bands is a good way to pack plants??! Ship bare root then so theres not a huge mess of loose soil all over the place!
This one was a fabulous purchase, unlike some of the other disastrous items in my order. So cute and so healthy! I'm very excited about this. I am waiting for it to acclimate to my home enviro and will not repot it until much later. Just love it!!! Thanks.
My endauensis arrived healthy and bigger than expected! It had a slightly rough time acclimating in her new home, but bounced back and is growing beautifully!
I had this hoya on my wishlist for a while and I'm very happy to finally added to my collection. Unfortunately it arrived very dry and lost some leaves. I'm hoping after watering it that it bounces back.
This is my second entente’s. My first one didn’t make it from the start. This one is already reaching for the overhead light. It’s got new growth points coming in with new leaves. I’m so excited about this plant. For me, it’s the leaves. I don’t even care if it looms. That will just be an added benefit.
Worried about your plants arriving safely in chilly weather? Add this to your order!
