Unusual, thornless cactus has opaque dark green globose stem slightly depressed at the apex, with pleasantly soft, wavy ribs that are spaced extremely close, with multiple protrusions that emerge like ripples, resembling sperm cells swimming towards an egg!
Water often during the growing season, but keep it dry in Winter. Make sure the soil dries completely before watering again. Can tolerate full sun but must be acclimated slowly as these have been grown in a shaded greenhouse under bright indirect light. Echinofossulocactus multicostatus f. inermis, fka Stenocactus Multicostatus f Inermis commonly referred to as 'Sperm Cactus'.
