4" Hoya krohniana 'Black'
First time offering this rare and hard to find Hoya at a special introductory price!
Hoya krohniana 'Black Leaves’ is a small, compact vine with leathery and dark heart shaped leaves that develop to a gorgeous dark purple almost completely black color as it matures. Even the fuzz on its fragrant white blooms can develop a lavender hue! Best color when grown in bright indirect light, will even love a bit of early morning or late afternoon sun. This Hoya is a must for beginners and advanced hoya collectors alike. We highly recommend this one for indoor culture as it likes to be in a cooler environment and can bloom readily indoors.
~Do Not let Hoya sit in excess water. As epiphytes, in the wild they would be growing on tree trunks or branches in the forest understory where they would get most of their water just from dew or moisture in the air.
~Hoya are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~Do Not remove the peduncles [flower stalks] after your Hoya has finished flowering. Hoya are able to rebloom again & again from the same peduncle!
~Feed regularly during the growing season with a low nitrogen fertilizer containing sufficient amounts of phosphorous and potassium.
