The Marantaceae family is commonly known as “prayer plants” due to their circadian rhythmic nastic movement known as nyctinasty in which they move their leaves based on an internal circadian clock! This family contains genera such as Calathea, Maranta, Stromanthe & Ctenanthe.
~Do Not place in full sun or high light. In the wild Marantaceae are tropical forest floor plants. This means they grow best in bright shade to low light conditions.
~Do Not water with tap water that has not been conditioned. Marantaceae are sensitive to metals or excessive nutrients in the water which may cause leaf edges to crisp or burn.
~Make sure to provide moderate to high levels of humidity. If humidity levels are too low [40% or less], leaf edges may crisp or burn.
This is my new go-to plant store. I've never had bugs, it's always well packaged, and the plants are pretty much thriving and continuing to grow after unboxing.
Beautiful plant! Healthy and producing new leaves. I repotted in a larger pot when I received it. Due to its large size, I was tempted to split into 2 plants, but decided to wait. Second order, I'm hooked!
I loved the first one so much, I got two more. I really enjoy watching them move throughout the day. PS- I hope all people and plants are unharmed after the storm ;)
I was looking for a " Stella " plant when I saw this " Snake Plant " and knew I had to have it! I love the shape and design of the leaves so I ordered both. This was my first purchase and I am so glad I ordered! Both arrived safe, quickly, and are so healthy and beautiful! I am always browsing their site and falling in love! As quickly as I get my " plant money " I will be back there to purchase! I highly recommend this company!! Thank you!
I’ve paid 3 times that much for this species and not gotten a plant as nice! And even more important with an on line order - the packaging was second to none!
I bought this for my sister who is trying to grow calatheas. She was very impressed that it arrived in excellent condition and is determined to keep it alive. She’s never ordered plants online and this may change her mind.
It arrived healthy and was well packaged to withstand the freezing temperatures where I live. It is such a cute plant and has really taken off since getting it, I will definitely be ordering more!
Gorgeous, will order for more. I already recommended to some of my friends to visit online in to your business. They were impressed to all the plants I previously ordered from you.
Worried about your plants arriving safely in chilly weather? Add this to your order! We highly recommend adding Winter Insurance if your local HIGH temperatures are below 45 degrees in your location or if your order is using UPS Ground as the shipping source, as it will likely pass through colder states on the way.
We grow tens of thousands of plants every single year, but every week, our teams pick out only the BEST from what's now ready to ship so you get the freshest plant possible.
We are committed to providing an accessible experience for all customers.
