Sarracenia prefer wet to damp media, ensure there is a reservoir of water in dish at all times. Use distilled, rain or reverse osmosis water only. Perfect for terrariums and bog gardens. If allowed to dry out, the pitchers will start to brown and crisp. These plants also need high light, for best color place in full sun.
Commonly referred to as Purple Pitcher Plant. When grown in bright light, the bright green pitchers start to develop deep red veins, eventually can turn almost solid deep red.
