Another Alocasia to add to the collection. Also known as 'Purple Sword'. Dark green leaves with purple undersides are long and narrow with wavy edges. Mature size is between 3'-5' depending on whether you grow it in a container indoors or plant it in the ground outdoors. Place in bright indirect light. Needs consistent moisture, water when top 1" is dry. Be careful not to overwater, it does not like soggy soil. Keep above 65F.
~Do Not let Alocasia sit in excess water. Alocasia are prone to rot if left with “wet feet”. Once watered, make sure to drain any extra water.
~Do Not place in full sun. Though some larger varieties can be acclimated to full sun, our Alocasia have been grown under shaded, greenhouse conditions.
~Alocasia are rhizomatous, meaning as they grow they will produce offshoots on short stems at or below the soil line. If you see bulb-like balls [known as corms] in the pot, Do Not remove them as these will grow to become new Alocasia!

Shipment took an extra 4 days to be delivered, and this Alocasia was stressed. Just repotted and seems to be doing just fine. Extensive root system earned it a bigger pot!
Gorgeous plant! The stem is mottled with purple and light green. Arrived with no issues due to fantastic packaging. Some of the smaller leaves have yellowed and dried up since receiving, but that’s expected as the plant adjusts. Excited to see how the leaves change as it matures :)

I feel like I got the purchase photos one. It is super healthy. Way bigger then I though. Really lovely stem coloration. She needs a little wipe down but she’s transferred really well!

Happy with the purchase. The plant I received was in great shape, aside from some of the older & smaller leaves (which were yellowing). But there were still several larger, younger, healthier leaves.

2nd order from Gabriella this summer! Very pleased with the speed of shipping. Plant came in great condition, one of the smallest leaves is yellowing but that’s from the stress of shipping, not reflective of anything the growers did. I most likely won’t be ordering until spring as the climate I’m in in winter isn’t conducive to shipping plants but I definitely will be ordering again in the future!
I love the plant first and foremost. Very fast shipping and great communication from the seller. The packaging could use some work when my plan arrived all the dirt was out of the pot and just rolling around in the box. My plant had one baby leave dying and a second leaf on its way out but I still have three healthy beautiful leaves showing no signs of them dying. I spoke to the seller about the packaging he took my experience and suggestion and was very appreciative and friendly to communicate with.
