Formerly classified as Peperomia puteolata, and also by the common name "Stilt Peperomia", this strikingly-striped peperomia has a different growth habit than most of the others. This unique peperomia produces long shoots which will then form a rosette of new leaves that make the tall shoot top-heavy, causing the newly formed leaves to lean over onto a nearby growing surface where it would root and then begin the process all over again!
~Do Not let Peperomia sit in excess water. As epiphytes, in the wild they would be growing on tree trunks or branches in the forest understory where they would get most of their water just from dew or moisture in the air.
~Do Not place in full sun or high light. In the wild Peperomia are tropical understory or forest floor plants. This means they grow best in bright shade to low light conditions.
~Peperomia will form inflorescences when happy but unless you are trying to self-pollinate, they can be removed to conserve energy for foliage production.
I cannot say more how happy I am with this plant. I have ordered here before and arrived just a perfect as usual. I ordered the plant over 6 months ago and still doing well.
I think this was my first time ordering from Gabriella Plants, but it certainly won't be the last! All the plants were healthy, and I was very impressed with how carefully they were packaged.
This beautiful specimen of a plant is doing well in her new home. She was so healthy that upon inspection I saw her roots were already crowded. Repotted her and she is so happy in her new pot gazing out on the low desert in Southern Colorado.
Beautifully packaged to Cali. She looks exactly like the photo. After 2 weeks, I moved her to this terrarium since she lost a couple of leaves. I know humidity is low in my home. She is super healthy and happy! I can't wait to buy more.
Absolutely beautiful and lovely when arrived and out for couple weeks now. It pops out in my macrame I personally handmade. Perfect display item! Thenk you!
I've been wanting this peperomia since I first saw it, so when it became available from this seller I ordered two plants so I could combine them for a fuller look in a pot. Although one of them dropped some leaves upon delivery, it has recovered just fine. The seller was reassuring when I communicated this issue to them, and now both plants are doing well in my care. Another satisfying purchase from Gabriella Plants!
This is a beautiful plant. She’s grown so much in such a short time. I’m planning to place her in a terrarium. She’ll look like a beautiful tropical tree.
Worried about your plants arriving safely in chilly weather? Add this to your order! We highly recommend adding Winter Insurance if your local HIGH temperatures are below 45 degrees in your location or if your order is using UPS Ground as the shipping source, as it will likely pass through colder states on the way.
