The parentage of this Philodendron hybrid may be unknown but we do know that we love it! Philodendron 'Imperial Red' grows in a rosette "self-heading" form which means it stays compact instead of vining. New leaves emerge a bright red-maroon color and mature to a deep green-maroon. With longer, pointed leaves than other Philodendron hybrids, 'Imperial Red' is sure to be a fan-favorite!
One of the most variable genera of houseplants on the market, Philodendrons can come in many shapes, sizes, forms & colors! Most Philodendrons are either vining or mounding types, & many Philodendrons will change their leaf shape as they mature!
~Do Not place in full sun. Though many Philodendron can be acclimated to full sun, our Philodendron have been grown under shaded, greenhouse conditions.
~Philodendron are considerably hardy & tolerant of a wide range of growing conditions, but for the best growth it is recommended to provide higher levels of humidity.
~If trying to get Philodendron to mature, give them a moss pole or wood board to climb! Make sure to keep the pole or board saturated though so aerial roots can attach & actually climb!
We grow tens of thousands of plants every single year, but every week, our teams pick out only the BEST from what's now ready to ship so you get the freshest plant possible.
