Alocasia 'Sumo' is a hybrid cross between Alocasia 'Calidora' and Alocasia princeps 'Purple Cloak'. Boasting the overall robust size of 'Portora' and the thinner, colorfully-pointed leaves of 'Purple Cloak', Alocasia 'Sumo' is sure to impress! Don't let their current size fool you-- this Alocasia hybrid will get BIG--hence the name!

General Alocasia Care Tips:

Light: Bright indirect light is preferred but they can also handle both lower amounts of light and some direct sun.

Water: This plant likes soil that is moist but not soggy. You can allow the top couple of inches of soil to dry out before watering again.

Other: These plants are tropical so they prefer warm, humid environments and may become dormant in the winter if they experience prolonged colder temperatures. You can increase your humidity with a humidifier, misting the plant, keeping it in your bathroom (so long as there is enough light), or by placing it on a pebble tray.

Worried about your plants arriving safely in chilly weather? Add this to your order! We highly recommend adding Winter Insurance if your local HIGH temperatures are below 45 degrees in your location or if your order is using UPS Ground as the shipping source, as it will likely pass through colder states on the way.
