Alocasia 'Sumo' is a hybrid cross between Alocasia 'Portora' and Alocasia princeps 'Purple Cloak'. Boasting the overall robust size of 'Portora' and the thinner, colorfully-pointed leaves of 'Purple Cloak', Alocasia 'Sumo' is sure to impress! Don't let their current size fool you-- this Alocasia hybrid will get BIG--hence the name!

General Alocasia Care Tips:

Light: Bright indirect light is preferred but they can also handle both lower amounts of light and some direct sun.

Water: This plant likes soil that is moist but not soggy. You can allow the top couple of inches of soil to dry out before watering again.

Other: These plants are tropical so they prefer warm, humid environments and may become dormant in the winter if they experience prolonged colder temperatures. You can increase your humidity with a humidifier, misting the plant, keeping it in your bathroom (so long as there is enough light), or by placing it on a pebble tray.
