4" Alocasia 'Regal Shields'

Alocasia 'Regal Shields' is the hybrid cross of Alocasia odora and Alocasia reginula aka "Black Velvet". Getting it's cold tolerance and larger stature from odora, and it's unique coloration and pleating from reginula, 'Regal Shields' is the perfect combination of both of these plants! 

New crop!  Great color & size.

General Alocasia Care Tips:

Light: Bright indirect light is preferred but they can also handle both lower amounts of light and some direct sun. 

Water: This plant likes soil that is moist but not soggy. You can allow the top couple of inches of soul to dry out before watering again. 

Other: These plants are tropical so they prefer warm, humid environments and may become dormant in the winter if they experience prolonged colder temperatures. You can increase your humidity with a humidifier, misting the plant, keeping it in your bathroom (so long as there is enough light), or by placing it on a pebble tray.
